PLEASE READ: This rally is being held in conjunction with the Hitching Post Farm Schooling Horse Trial. Due to COVID 19, there will be no HM. Pony Club team riding scores will be scored remotely using the online riding scores on www.startboxscoring.com.  After the event is complete, results will be emailed to participants and team ribbons will be mailed.

TEAMS:

Consist of 3 or 4 riders, all members rated as of Closing Date of rally. A team must be comprised of either all Junior riders (17 and under) or all Senior riders (18 and over). Divisions will be:

  • Horse Trial Junior (17 and under)
  • Horse Trial Senior (18 and over)
  • Combined Test Junior (17 and under)
  • Combined Test Senior (18 and over)

The club DC is responsible for approving the level of competition for all rider entries. 

Sharing of mounts is not permitted.

Mixed ratings and levels may compete on the same team. 

If your club does not have a complete team, either call other clubs to make up a scrambled team, or send in such entries to be placed on scrambled teams by the Organizer.

Rally organizers will notify teams of any changes needed to create full teams or accommodate scrambles.

AWARDS: Team ribbons for each division.

 

PONY CLUB ENTRIES:

Please use this Google Form for Team entries of 2 to 4 riders.  If only 2 riders, Event Organizer will try to fill the team with up to 2 Scramble Riders.

This Form will remain open for Editing until close date, at which all entries are Final.  However, we will be peeking at your entries so that we can get estimates of numbers and where scrambles are needed :)

One input-er may create multiple team entries, changing the team name for each entry.

HITCHING POST FARM HORSE TRIAL ENTRY:

  • In addition to the Pony Club entry, all riding competitors MUST enter the August 22 Hitching Post Farm Schooling Horse Trial using bluehorseentries.com.
  • All entries ONLINE only. If you have submitted an entry through Blue Horse Entries in the past, just update your information and you are ready to begin your entry. If you are new to Blue Horse Entries, you will first need to create a rider account. If you are a parent/guardian for a rider under 18, you will need to create an account for yourself, and add your rider to your account. It's fast and simple! If you need any assistance submitting online entry, email ridewithus@bluehorseentries.com.
  • Open Date is 07/28 and close date is 08/11.
  • Neg. Coggins required for all horses within 12 months; must accompany entry.  If any questions on how to upload your Coggins with each horse to be included with your entry, please contact Blue Horse Entries, entries@bluehoreseentries.com.
  • All riding competitors are encouraged to begin their Blue Horse Entry well in advance of the close date. (as well as Pony Club entry )

    • Very limited onsite stabling $50.00. Riders with Saturday night stalls must wait until 5 pm to occupy stalls. Stalls available at $40 one mile away..

Hitching Post Farm COVID 19 Protocols :

  • Face masks must be worn unless on a horse. Don’t make us ask. If you have a fever, or have had within 24 hours, please stay home. We may take temperatures, if you are uncomfortable with this, please stay home.
  • ONE SUPPORT PERSON (parent, spouse, groom...) per rider may attend, this does NOT include your coach. Coaches may stay on property as long as students are competing.
  • In order for us to allow everyone to compete, we ask that you cool off your horse and be ready to head for home. Bring a self addressed, stamped envelope for dressage tests and ribbons. 2 STAMPS if you want your HPF ribbon. These will be collected upon entering the parking area.
  • Parking will be tight. There may not be room to tie your horses (especially on both sides) Be prepared!

NO SPECTATORs!

Please bring wipes, hand sanitizer and your own TP. Plan to wipe Port-a-potty doors and touchable surfaces when done.

  • BRING your own WATER for horses, for drinking and bathing.
  • Take your trash home with you.
  • NO DOGS, PLEASE.
  • Consider walking your courses on Friday if you can. We will be set up and ready at noon on Friday.
  • Bring your own bridle tag and pinney holder.
  • The setup will be different at HPF. Please follow directions and be KIND to ALL, but especially the volunteers who are making this happen.

DRESSAGE TESTS:

Grasshopper: USDF Intro Test A (2015)

Elementary: USEA Beginner Novice Test A (2018)

Beginner Novice: USEA Beginner Novice Test B (2018)

Novice: USEA Novice A (2018)

Training Level: USEA Training A (2018)

CROSS-COUNTRY:

The Hitching Post Farm courses are all USEA standard set in an approachable way over some terrain. Jump courses are not timed.

Grasshopper: 18”, max 10 jumps, a course of 18" show jumps with 2 natural obstacles at 18" or less. 

Elementary: up to 2’3”, max 10 jumps. Can include water, with option to go around the edge. 8-10 2’ to 2'3" SJ course including verticals and oxers. 

Beginner Novice: up to 2’7”, max 15 jumps.  Can include ditch and water. 8-10 jump SJ course no higher than 2'7" can include 2 stride combination.

Novice: max 18 jumps no higher than 3’, 8-10 jump SJ course no higher than 3'.

Training Level: 3’3”,max 20 jumps, 10-12 jump SJ course, no higher than 3'3" and can include a triple.

STADIUM JUMPING:

The stadium phase will immediately follow cross-country.

 

DIRECTIONS:

From I-89: Exit 3. Left off ramp to Rt. 107 - 1/4 mile to Rt. 14. Turn right on Rt. 14 South. Turn right onto Royalton Hill Rd. Fox Stand, downhill, cross RR tracks & bridge & immediately turn left. Go 1 mile; becomes a dirt road. Turn left onto Back River Road. Go 1 mile; HPF on left.
